Biography

I was born and raised in the Sudbury area. After graduating from Laurentian University I completed graduate studies at Carleton University and Université Laval in economics with a short stay with Statistics Canada. My first academic appointment was with the Department of Economics at Laurentian University in 1991 where I taught mostly applied microeconomics and quantitative courses. I joined the School of Sports Administration in 2011 and learned very quickly how dedicated the students, faculty and alumni are to school.

I especially enjoy watching baseball and hockey but also have an interest in soccer and Canadian football. My favourite teams are the Boston Red Sox, from the days before there were any Canadian teams in MLB, and the Colorado Avalanche, from my days cheering for the Nordiques while studying in Quebec City.

The Laurentian University campus is very scenic, especially in the summer. My favourite spots on campus are its trails and beach. If I'm not in my office you can find me in line for a coffee at Starbucks.
